Clunk

Clunk
I had a clutch put in today, and noticed 2 issues. I was hoping for your input. LT1 6 speed. When in 5th at around 55mph, you go to 4th and accelerate, you'll hear a clunk. Same thing when at 80, in 6th, and go for 5th and accelerate, clunk. I havent been able to get the car to do that in other gears. I was thinking the u joints maybe? The sound seems to be coming from the rear.
Issue #2. When stopped, and want reverse. You push the stick forward, it stops, then you push it a little more, and it pops into gear. WTF?

clunk sounds like the rearend or the trany mount. can you narrow down the noise source? mine does a similar thing but its the crossmember mounted torque bar. 2 sounds like the clutch is not disengaging all the way and may have a bit of air in the hydo system or the master or slave cylinder is goin bad.

Im not quite sure what you mean by narrowing down the source. It sounds like its in the back. Im going to take it out for a closer listen. I'll go check the mounts. This is very stressful, I can't afford a new trans, this could park the car for a long time if its big.

Do you feel the clunk behind you or under you? Same question for hearing the clunk, under or behind you? If it's under you, like you feel it hit your butt, then it's most likely a mount. If it's behind you, I say check the suspension, all bushings, blown out shocks, stuff like that.

Havent driven in a few days, I've been busy.
I dont keep things in the car, so I no its not cargo, although I did have that problem in a festiva once.
I thought it might have been the rear end, but I dont think so anymore. I started from rolling at 75 or so, put the clutch down, revved it up to about 3500 and dropped it in 5th to simulate a downshift/accelerate, but there was no clunk. Its not a clunk sound as much as its (perhaps) gears coming into one another, hard to describe really. It sounds like its in the back, but I've heard sounds fool me before. I'm really worried about this.
