I have a service engine light on my 1994 chevy camaro v6 3.4L car. I was told that It was the egr valve that needed to be replaced from the person I bought the car from. I am not sure If Its a hose that has a crack or what but I havent checked that out yet. The egr valve was replaced 30k miles ago. Should I clean or replace the valve along with the hose but then would I need a guy to turn off the light. It only comes on once In awhile but I am wondering how to replace the egr valve I have a general Idea but I was looking on youtube I couldnt find that great of a video.

you can clear the ses by unhooking your battery for several minutes. search around for a factory service manual. heres what they look like. this one is kinda spendy. should be able to find a set for 20 to 50 bucks in fair shape. 1994 Chevy Camaro Firebird Trans Am Service Manual Set on eBay!

It would be very smart of you to get the error code checked before replacing anything. Depending on the code, it could be the EGR valve itself, an EGR solenoid, or the related wiring circuit. You could be throwing money away replacing the EGR valve, if that isn't the actual culprit.
