For one thing the car is complaining that the cats are missing. You have an OBDII computer and it wants to see all four O2 sensors.

If you take off the cat's, even if you leave in the O2's, it will leen your engine out (less fuel) because the O2's behind the cat are reading there is to much fuel. When you leenout the engine you also heat up the engine thus maybe the reason you're wires are melting. You may be able toget a set of MIL elimiators for your carbut not sure who sells them anymore. You can also do it better than that by taking it to ashop that'll tuneyour computer for it.

The O2 sensors behind the cat monitor it's performance only. They don't adjust fuel trims. That's what the front two O2 sensors are for.

I saw the wire issue before the cats were removed, and i also had a 93 trans am with an lt1 that was doing the same thing with the injector

plugins having the wire coating melting. I talked to a guy at a chevy dealership and he said if there is a draw some were or if the injector is

not getting the right amount of om's that it could cause the wire to get hot and melt.....does that sound right to you? I was wondering if

anyone that has had the lt1 motors if they have had problems with the wiring harness that is up by the valve covers and intake manifold

getting really dried out and britel because of the heat and if anyone knows any way of treating this problem.

Then what's the explination for removing cat's and it throwing a code? My guess is the code will say that theBank1 sensor2 low voltage. Elaborate a little would you?
