Default CEL Code?

I have a CEL and I tried the paperclip trick and the CEL just flashed rapidly giving me no code. Does anyone know what a flashing CEL means?

It means that you can't use the paper clip trick on 94 and newer cars. You need to use a real scanner OBDI.

if there is an advanced auto parts near you, they'll let you use their scanner for free.

pretty sure it means dont do that. something like that anyways. 94 is one that can be tough to find a scanner that will work on it.

Maybe you can help anyhow craby. The other day my car stumbled a bit on the highway, the CEL came on and the car hasn't done that since. BUT, it cranks awhile before turning over and it turns over slow but runs great once started. I feel a vibration under my feet while driving, but it's not the transmission because it does it in neutral and park. Any ideas?

edit: you may just want to pay the $55 scanners are quite expensive a quick google search found around $150 (not all scanners work for this car)

Don't buy one of the $30 code readers, they won't work with your car. You need a real OBDI scanner, not a plain code reader/flasher.
