Car died while driving. Won't start
 

Okay so on my way to work, my car died. It acted like I just shut my key off. No warning or anything. My security light is on BUT it's been on for months with no issues. The engine cranks just fine when I turn the key and it has fuel at the rail. So I'm down to injectors, ignition, or a mechanical issue. With the way it's acting, I'm banking on something electrical. Thoughts?

Being that id just died most likely it is an electrical problem. You said there is fuel at the rail, but that does not mean much if the fuel pressure is bad. Check foe spark while cranking. IF spark is good (Blue and fat), check the injectors to see if they are being fired, a set of cheap NOID lights will do the trick. Also check injector fuses. Check wiring connecting to ignition module. Scan for codes with an OBD1 scanner and GM cables.

I checked the ignition fuses and they're good. Going to check for spark on my break and see what it has.

You also what to check pressure to the rail. If the mechanical part of the pump fails you can still get the key on hum and pressure but the pressure will read 4 or 5 PSI. Not near enough to spray.

If you have spark and fuel pressure you will need the noid Pete mentioned, do not use a normal test light or even a volt meter to check for a signal as they will draw too much voltage and can fry your PCM. Nothing worse then a car coming that needs a new fuel filter because of bad gas and a PCM because the customer put a test light on the injector to try to figure it out why it would not start.

Well I checked for spark. The plugs are soaked in fuel and there no spark. So I'm on my way to Oreillys to have the icm tested

Took the ICM to autozone to have it tested. It failed. Thanks for the help guys!
