Default Car is dead

Everything went dead as soon as I turned the ignition. I unlocked my car with the remote fob, lights flashed like they usually do. Opened the door, interior lights turned on. Then when I turned the ignition, everything died. Checked fuses, battery cables. No recent work done except an oil change about a month ago and the starter about 2 months ago. It's a 97 z28 auto. What could be the problem?

Reads like a dirty connection.
Clean the battery cables at both ends and the accompanying wires on the starter stud.

agree could be bad connection. also could be bad ignition switch or could be vats gone wack. test for power to the fuse box, test for power in and out of the ignition switch. test vats, look at 25 and 25.5 here https://camaroforums.com/forum/93-02...62/#post557634

Well everything seems fine now. All I did was disconnect the cables from the battery. Didn't even clean them. This was before I checked back here and they are clean anyway except for some dielectric grease.

you cleared the computer. not sure that has anything to do with it working. it may be the cables are goin south. sometimes the cable inside the end gets lose and can have a poor connection. sometimes a coating of a kind of carbon or the likes will form on the battery post or connection point and needs to be scraped off. i have seen it where a wire brush would not do it. had to use one of them scraper cleaners that take a layer off. that was on a post battery though. had to use my knife of the side post on the truck once. its the fist thing i look at on a non start for lack of juice.

Most likey it was just the connection. I have seen it many times. FYI it has nothing to do with miles its about time. It could also be a sign that a new battery is in your near future.
