Yes you might wana get some tires that will hold up well at 100+mph before you get that tune....lol But it is funny how the sixxer is limited more then the v8.
V8 with non Z-rated tires is limited to 115 And the 3800 is set to 118. lol.

RE: Car cuts out at 115
damn guys, i have 75$$ z rated tires on my ION [8D]and it tops out at 117 i think in 4th gear, need to get it taken off cuz im like only half way thru 4th when it cuts out.
i dono what my camaro topped out atstock, but itredlined at 95-100 in 5th when i had it. had gears in it tho, even thought the guy before me claims he never did anything to it(he owned it since his dad bought it for him new in 96) jus like it had a EGR valve that was snapped in half, clamped together, and had no sensor attached, a nice shiny driveshaft(alluminum?) 140kmi on it, and the tranny/clutch was more solid than my dad's vette. so im assuming he lied to me, which i dont know why, those are all things(cept maybe EGR) that would sell the car faster, but it seriously had no accident reports or shop receipts, but i found a tire receipt in the manual[&:]

Look inside the door where your gross vehicle weight is and everything my car had the stock tires listed right there as Z rated. I don't know if that is true for all Camaros but I know it is for mine.

I'll break it down nice and easy so everyone can understand
If your car tops out at 118 or less (my Father owned a '94 Firebird Formula that was limited at 108) it's because it was not ordered with Z rated tires from the factory and has a speed limiter.
If your car can get past that mark and it still has the stock wheels and original tires, they're Z rated and your car is not speed limited. With a Z28 you should be able to achieve speeds of around 140-150 mph.
If you car has aftermarket wheels or doesn't have the original tires on it still and you can get past that mark, either the car was ordered with Z rated tires or the PCM has been reprogrammed to allow the car to achieve speeds higher than the 115 mark.
