Car cuts out at 115
I just bought a 96 z convertable and I punched it and it shuts down at 115 ... I have had some people tell me that it was a safety feature since it is a convertable?? Also people have told me that it has something to do with my car not coming equipped with z rated tires! I was wondering if someone had a answer and could tell me how to eliminate it? Some have said a shop could erase it?? If so what kind of shop exactly or???Would a hypertech solve it?? I had a 96 mustang convertable gt and it didnt shut off and this is my first camaro soim clueless! Any advice would be great?

Yes you might wana get some tires that will hold up well at 100+mph before you get that tune....lol But it is funny how the sixxer is limited more then the v8.
V8 with non Z-rated tires is limited to 115 And the 3800 is set to 118. lol.

Hey Cobra nice car I have the same but a 99 with Cooper Zeon 2XS tires and no intake or exhaust... ok it's not the same car I meant engine haha. Hey I've been thinking about exhaust and intake for a while now I was just wondering how yoursresponded to the mods you put on? I'm not looking to hot rod it out but I wouldn't mind being able to smoke some rice every once in a while.

Sorry i dont mean to post hi-jack, but goofie have you had problems with those rims? i bought my 2000 firebird with eagle alloys like that on it, and one came off while i was driving because of the lug nuts and rim not fitting properly. have you had any trouble???

No I haven't had any trouble like that.. The rims have been perfectly fine since I've had the car for about 6 months now. I just put the new Cooper Zeon tires on for xmas and had everything checkout and I haven't noticed any problems? Is this a Eagle Alloy manufactures defect or something that just happened to you?

I dont know what it is, but none of the lug nuts i had were from eagle or gm so that was definitley a factor, i just thought that they were a pain in the butt to get on and off while i was doing my brakes. Then one flew off... lol. That and i think they look really close to stock firebird rims so the hastle wasnt worth it for the look.
