car accelerating on its own??

well first of all its a 1994 z28 with the Lt1 and auto. aside from the other problems its having now my car seems to be accelerating on its own and the throttle is sticking. once on the street it even got stuck at high rpms and they wouldnt drop so i had to stop in the road and when i put it in park the car redlined like i was flooring til i turned it off. could someone tell me what might be wrong with my car please??

Toyota had a mass recall because of a similar issue.

There are a lot of thing that will make a car rev but the only way you can can enough air in the motor to red line the car is thru the throttle body.

Since you car is not drive by wire it is most likely the the cable(s), the cable(s) routing the throttle body itself.

Disconnect the throttle cable and cruse cable. See the the thottle body works smoothly and returns quickly. If not you it will need repair/replace it. If so next you need to chek the throttle cable hooked up. If thats all good I would drive it without the cruse hooked up and see if that makes a differents.
