Well, ive had an offer on my car.... 5k... idk if i should accept and use the money to finance a 1998 T/A with T-tops and has78,862 mileson the clock. Thats alil under 7900 miles a year.. not bad. Its 11988 and the state its in has no sales tax then i only have to pay 6988 til its paid off. OR keep my car and fix the things that are wrong... it needs some things checked its pretty secure mechanically, just tranny mount and a new belt.. but paint, brakes, tires exhaust.. some body panels werent put on straight or something because the gaps dont quite match but their too close to notice and it 127400 miles on the clock. Heres a pic and what do you guys think? The guy that made the offer said he would want to take it to a mechanic of course but after 3000 bucks in repairs there shouldnt be anything major.

 

First things first!! Are you able to afford this car? Check out how much you make and compare how much you spend per month. Are you going to have to work more hours just to keep up with the payments? Is your insurance going to go up? I recall you wanting one of these so it is a hard decision. You've already put so much money into this car. Don't get in over your head.

 

Ya, don't get the pontiac just cuz the opportunity's there. Call for an insurance quote, it looks like you have all the info you would need to get a quote for that car. But if everything calculates out ok, and make room for "error", get the trans am. Remember, even though you have some mods on your car, the LS1 still might be stronger.

 

that seems a little pricey. i got my 98 for 9.5 and it had fewer miles than that. look around a little harder and u will find something.

 

If the car is out of your state, you will still end up paying your states tax on it when you register it.

 

well... i did all my homework.. since id have to finance it id have to have full coverage which would only cost me 80 bucks more making me pay nearly 200 bucks... BUT i make about 1000 a month so i wasnt too worried about that.. Then i give em a call... and they are making a deal on it... and like you said i could probably find one for less and closer to me... Only problem is my dad refused to be my co-signer becauseit doesnt benefit him basicallyand my moms credit sucks.. So unless i can sell my car and get another for the amount i made i wont be getting a new car anytime soon.. SOOO it looks like ill sink my financial teeth into my camaro for a while longer..

 

I was lookin around craigslist and i found this 85 Monte Carlo SS thats been nicely modded, its within my price range, just under 4000. If i get 5000 for mine id have alil over a grand left to fix it up or w/e it may need. heres the adds:
