thats exactly what i was doing with the starter fluid... i can smell gas when i turn it over 5+ times in a row... my neighbor said its happend to a few chevy vans and did the exact same thing...

You said you have fuel pressure and spark. Next you want to check to make sure you have signal to the injectors. I do find it weird you have Spark and you dont even get a backfire when you spray starting fluid. That stuff normally fires something as long as their is some spark. Could that car be flooded? Can you get to any of the plugs? You could pull one and see if its wet.

it sounds like you may have anouther issue besides running out of fuel, on a 94 you can jump the connector with a paper clip, if you look a the diag connector you will see to pins side by side, jump those together, it will flash a code 12 first and then the next flashes will be you code for example one quick flash and the a pause then two more quick flashes means 12, on a 3.4 the mass air flow meters are common for causing a stalling condition, sometimes you can hit on the sensor a try to get it started, make sure you check for fuel and spark before you go throwing parts, ck codes first

i have pulled the plugs out 2 times both times right after turning it over alot of time's... and they were wet and looked fouled but after they sat on the bench for awile they were dry and didnt look fouled so it was probly just gas on them.... it does occasionally have like a little fire (doesnt start) like right before a car is about to start (hard to explain) but 90% of the time it just turns with no sign of life.... im thinking timing or crank position sensor maybe??

i just tried the paper clip method and NOTHING HAPPEND!?!?!?!?!?!!!! this was my first time ever trying the paper clip trick.... there was four "pins" that you could see had a wire conected and two were side by side and the other two were not even close, so i stuck one end of the paperclip in one of the sidebyside pins and the other in the one next to it, no dash lights flashed-no beeps NOTHING... and yes i had the ignition in the ON position.... did i do it wrong? this car is realy pissing me off!

paper clip thing wont work on your yr. u have a obd 2 plugin with a obd1 computer. u need to have it scanned if at all posible. check all your fuses. inside the car on the side of the dash on the driver side by the door hinge theres one fuse box and another under the hood on the diver side wheel well, its a black box. u may have it flooded but even then the starting fluid should have gotten to kick over, only thing i can think of is when u ran out of fuel u blew a injector or two and they are dumping fuel in to fast. if thats the case your oil should smell of gas by now.

Remove your oil fill cap from the valve cover, have someone else crank the engine over, then you look at the rocker arms through the valve cover and see if they are moving up and down. That will at least rule out a broken timing chain.
How did the car act when you ran out of gas...was it chugging first, went straight dead, or what?

i checked all the fuses when it first happend and then again yesterday and they are all good...about 5 minutes ago i started realy thinking it was injector(s) because i tested the fuel pressure at the plug on the intake it was about 45....i can smell gas after cranking it along time....

when it died i had to play with the gas like half floored.... felt just like what my other camaro did when it ran out of gas but the other one always fired right up after putting gas in it.....i never thought of checking the timing chain that way im gonna try it tommorow morning.....

thanks for the chart it realy helped i was gonna buy a book next week cause im broke right now.....
