camaro turns over but NO FIRE!!! SOS
first, its a 1994,camaro,V6,3.4,auto,... i ran out of gas and i put gas in it (1/2 tank) and now it just turns over and wont fire... i dont have a fuel pressure gauge but i can hear the pump turn on and i pulled the fuel line off from behind the fuel filter and put it in a gas can and turned it over and the can filled up pretty quick...ive tested all three coil packs (off the car when i tested them) and they are fine.... it doesnt act like it wants to fire at all...... ive read about 4 different threads on different forums of people with the same problem but no solutions....
is there anybody who has had this problem and got it fixed? I NEED HELP!!!!!! what should i be testing/looking at?

Could be the injectors/carb/tbi (whatever you have) doesnt have fuel to it yet. Whan you ran out of gas they were starved... so the fuel neds to make it back to them now... Whenever I work on fuel rails I keep a can of ether (starting fluid) ready - spray some in the intake plenum and crank, I dont know if this is advisable or not.. but it works for me.
SORRY i forgot to mention i tried starting fluid and it DID NOT do anything... ive primed it/turned it over atleast 50 times...
also the "service engine soon" AND "check gauges" light is on..... does anybody know how to pull the codes without an obd1 reader i know you can use a paperclip but i dont know which prongs to stick it in

yep,me and my neibor just tested the spark=good and tested the fuel pressure=good he said that its the coolant temp sensor that it could be reading 0 so im gonna replace it tommorow morning and hope it works...
Whoa, don't start throwing parts at it with the hopes of it working. The coolant sensor wouldn't be the problem anyway. With a cold engine, the computer starts it out in "open loop" mode, and that sensor is bypassed.
So you think that running out of gas wrecked something electronic? Highly unlikely and illogical. I'm seconding the fuel starvation diagnosis. How are you using the starting fluid? You need to remove the filter tube from the TB, open the throttle blade by hand, and give it a squirt. With having spark, you should have fire, even if only momentary.

how did the car run prior to running out of gas?are you sure it was out of gas and something else didnt shut it down?agreed that running out of gas wont create electronic issues.were your check engine lights on before it died?
correction. i don't know on this car.. but there are cars, or have been issues where a car ran out of gas, and the fuel cut off reply was activated so the fuel pump didn't burn out..
So... perhaps there is some electrical involved.. But maybe not.. just throwing it out there.

That's a thought, but I don't know of a system like that on this car? Not that that means much!
And besides....
