Camaro for sale by me...
Hey guys, I have a question for you. I've always been a Ford guy so I don't know jack-squat about the 'Maro except that it sucks and it is slow. (Kidding!) I just recently saw one for sale by a guy across the street and I feel called to find out about it and look into making it a project car.
The only thing that is listed on the car is the guys phone number...No year, engine, miles, etc. The car looks like it has stock exhaust, only thing that sticks out is the tint on the windows. It has dual exhaust and no emblems on the side...The headlights are recessed back a bit, I know that's supposed to be a tell-tale sign for something but I forget what lol.
What kind of 'Maro has the headlights pushed back? Also, what are there any problems that are common that I should look for, depending on what year it winds up being?
Thanks!

RE: Camaro for sale by me...
Ok, so that narrows things down a little bit.
That means that if it is a V8, it's the LT1, correct? Any specific problems that I should ask about/look for?
I don't know if it helps or not, but the exhaust isn't the rectangular Z28 exhaust, the tips are round.
Thanks for helping me so far guys!

Sounds like it has an aftermarket exhaust on it, although no Z28 badges may mean that it's a V6 (you would obviously be able to tell by the sound).
If it is an LT1 you just need to check into how many miles etc. it has, we can then tell you stuff that you may want to look for (aside from the normal used car things).

You should call the guy and ask to look it over. If it is a V8, it is the LT1. Though you said it looked like the dual exhaust was stock and not rectangular, which would indicate it is a Y87 Camaro. Which became an option for the 3.8in 96.
