Default caliper bracket

hello,

i have a 97 z28 vert my rear left caliper bracket keeps hitting the rotor and i cant figure out why. it started doing this on the last brake and rotor change and has gotten worse with the new brakes i've just installed. i have changed both rear calipers for other reasons and it didnt help also there is the same amount of end play on both axles so i dont think thats it. any help would be great

when you say its hitting, is it cutting into the rotor? Or when you apply the brakes its hitting occasionally?

if i hit the brakes hard it will cut into the rotor. if i courner hard it will hit the rotor and make a very loud squealing noise. also a few times after i parked the bracket was up against the rotor its not cutting into the rotor but its almost like glazing the rotor. craby i use high temp synthetic ceramic brake grease and the slides but not on the pad backs

You didn't happen to compare the old to new rotors? Sounds like the new may be slightly bigger around. Or, it has a tremendous amount of rust build up on the outer edge.

it would be hard to do, but is it possible you flipped the caliper bracket?
