Default c-6 z06 rims

I am thinking of buying some factory corvette z06 rims. 17's up front and 18's in back. my questions are~ will they fit, what size tires can i have on them, and will my speedometer still read correct. I have a 1994 Z-28

speedometer reads off the transmission, so that much I know for a fact, so it won't change from wheels. Whether or not they will fit I can't promise, mine are replicas. They should fit if my memory serves me correc my friend has a set of the on his car and they bolted up just fine...

Assuing he's telling the truth, they could be replicas, he's not the most reliable person in the world.

Grr...

The speed is determined by the speed sensor housed in the rear differential. The wheel size will affect your speedo. That said, it's by overall wheel/tire profile that affects it, so if you pick your tires right you won't have to do any reprogramming. If you're looking for the rear end to have a higher profile than the front (i.e. the same hight of sidewall in the front and the back so the back sits higher than the front with 18" wheels) you're going to have to get your PCM reprogrammed. The widest tire you can run in the front is a 275, you can go up to a 315 in the back.

How wide are your wheels going to be? If you're running 17x9.5 in front and 18x10.5 in the rear (stock C5 Z06 sizing), you'll want to run a 275/40R17 in the front and a 295/35R18 in the rear. That is going to have the rear end a little higher, but you can't get it perfect with the tire sizes that are offered. Unfortunately the sidewall height you need with an 18" wheel is right in the middle of what you can get, so you can get a little higher (295/35) or a little lower (295/30). Either way it shouldn't throw off your speedo too much, you'll just have to be aware of it.

Cranmaro is running c6 wheels. it may be worth it to shoot him a PM to see if he had to do anything special for fitment.

Thanks for the compliments Keith.

Spec: Cran is running C6 replicas. All the replica wheels are made to fit both F-bodies and the Corvettes. Any late model Corvette wheel will fit in the wheel well, but if you get actual C5 take-offs you need to grind the hub just slightly to get the wheel to mount correctly.

This is a couple of buddies of mine saying this... Not me. That said, they're telling me to go with 19's on the back and 18's up front? Probably with a low pro tire? Good idea or no?
