Hey theres a massive blob of paint missing from a low speed collision off of my rear bumper I was wondering what I need to do to repaint it. I know theres sanding involved (wet sanding?) but I have no idea how to start. Can somebody please outline the sanding procedure and what kind of paint I would need to use, how many coats, materials, etc...
(No damage to actual bumper)
Thx any help appreciated.

Usually it'd be best to use an air sander, but you probably wouldn't want to use that since the rear bumper is very curved. Instead, you're gonna have to do it the good ol' way... wet block sanding. You'll want to use a 1/3 block and a curved block for sure, and possibly a 2/3. Start out with a coarse sandpaper of about 320 and work your way up to around 800. The amount of effort you put into prep work affects how well the paint job will be.
