Default Buick 3800 Supercharger / Programing

My neighbor has two superchargers for his 3800 V6 Buick setting on his shelf. We are working on my 98 3800 V6 Camaro and he wants to put one of his superchargers on my Camaro. Has anyone done this?

I know that my Camaro can't be chipped, but can it be programed? I know there are computer overrides for the 98-99 V6 Camaro-Firebird but I would like to know if the current chip can be re-programed?

Thanks,

Do a search on the supercharger, it is facing the wrong way and there is no room in the back of your motor. It can and has been done but the custom machine work required is no where near worth the end result. Your OBD computer can be reprogrammed but your going to need a hand help reprogrammer or a program like HP Tuner and a lap top. Neither are cheap and you need to know how to use them. Most people just use a service like PCMsforless.

I want to thank you for your input. I would rather port and polish my heads and put roller rockers on than a supercharger.

I think the 98 still has the cast Iron exhaust manifold so headers, even on a stock motor is a nice upgrade. If you are going the cam then the headers are a must.

Headers, CAI, Cam, port polish (gasket match the intake to the heads) then either a dyno tune or a PCMforless tune would run circles around a M90 supercharger.

I already have ceramic coated headers on it. What do you mean by CAI?

Cold air intake. So an aftermarket lid for the 98.

After I sent the message I realized what it was. I have a "Ultra Z" hood to put on my Camaro. I just have to get it painted.

I hit a deer, or should I say the deer hit me, a year ago and after it pulled itself out of my windshield, it stood on the hood and smashed it. Everyone was charging $1000 to replace the hood, which I found out only cost them $200. So I decided, with some advice from this board, to get an "Ultra Z" hood to replace the factory hood.
