Default Broken lug stud

So when I was removing my drivers side back tire today, I was taking out a lug and SURPRISE!!! it was apparently cross threaded so it just snapped off as it was loosened. Do i just hammer it out, or what? It'd be nice if i could have a shop fix it but I dont think its a good idea to drive there with only 4 lugs on a wheel...

Its a pretty easy DIY. Just snag a new one, and hammer the old one out.

yes. hit it hard. it will come

i had to replace my whole hub last year after a little lug issue (lost 4 of them on 1 wheel all at once on the highway), i took a mallet and had to go to town on the whole damn hub for about 10 mintues before it popped out

Get a sledge and it will get the job done. If you really want to take it to a shop driving with 4 lugs for a few miles isn't going to hurt anything.
