Bought a 1996 camaro
Hey i just purchased a 1996 camaro v6 with 120000 miles on it. I purchased it for 700$ and will need to spend 300$ to get the timing chain fixed/replaced. It is in fairly good condition. It has some oxidation on the paint and one small ding that can probably be easily popped out. The interior is pretty immaculate for its age and the car is also equiped with a t-top. I am just wondering if i got a decent deal and what i should be able to expect from this car(speed,up-keep, etc..). Thank you in advance.

Sounds like a pretty good deal. Are you doing the repairs or having them done? I have bought 2 with bad engines and one with a damaged front bumper cover, all have the 3.8V6. I have already replaced the engine in the 96 and have the 98's engine out waiting to take it to the machine shop.
What engine is in yours? Good luck |
96 would be a 3800 as well. Sounds like you got a decent deal. You never know though with a cheap car. Some are good, some are bad. I bought my 99 back in 2005 and only paid 2000 for it with 99000 on the clock and in great physical AND mechanical condition.

I Love T-TOPs, good price, but expect to spend some $$ on it.
Pics Please !! |
Sounds to me like a good deal. I'd like to see some pics to better tell the overall condition. But, if it's as clean as you say, you got a great price on it.
