Default Belt question

1996 Camaro base model 3.8l v6

So my belt got caught in my AC Clutch and snapped the A/C pump off the bracket. I'm wondering if, instead of replacing the AC Pump, is it possible to get a belt that bypasses that pulley? I know with some cars that come without an AC option you can just get a belt that bypasses the pulley... Is this possible with my model camaro, or am I SOL?

It's a couple hundred dollar difference...

Thank you in advance!

So this is like a dummy pulley? Do you have any idea where I should start looking for such a thing?

Thanks again!

3.8 doesn't have an ac delete kit. i know you can get a different belt and reroute it though.

Ok so I can route the cable around the AC pump? I can't seem to find a belt for that online anywhere. Just the oem belt. Does anyone know a good place to start looking, or have purchased one before and can direct me?

Thank you so much!

Find a way to reroute a shorter belt. Take a piece of string, and run it along that route. Measure how long the string is and go to the store and ask for one that size.
