Battery Losing charge
 

So its been a while since I Have been on the forums (to me anyways) but to those who remember, my car has had start up problems that I have figured untraceable. The starter seemed fine, same with the alternator, and I primed the car before starting to check the gas pressure and it still had problems. I had the car checked at advanced and the guy told me the battery had a low charge. But that wasn't the problem. It could become one sooner or later but it wasn't the original cause. The problem was that when the car was shut off, something was sucking the juice from the battery, which makes sense because It will start right up after first start up. Just takes a few tries to finally get it to start. Immediately the guy asked if there was an aftermarket stereo in the car. I said yeah but installation was iffy thanks to the previous owner. He claims that if it was wired wrong, the stereo can be the culprit and be sucking power from the battery. So my thought is to maybe do a temp radio delete, make sure all the wires are ok, and see if that helps the cars start up. Probably drive it like that for a few days and see how start up is during my usual driving pattern. Any thoughts or other suggestions would be appreciated.

before you even do all that just remove the radio fuse then use a dmm to read the amperage draw. If you dont have acces to a dmm just remove the radio fure to see if it helps.

did you have the battery load tested? if its any more than 50 amp below its rated cca, its dying and needs replaced. should be at least 610 cca. i thought i had the same problem with an old car, battery voltage was fine, no parasitic draw. amps were just low, so it wouldnt start after a few days

Ok so update, I pulled the fuse and the first few starts were awesome. Didn't even hesitate after the fuel pump built pressure. The next day it began giving problems again and would hesitate to start. I have thought of tossing a new battery into the car however it will be sitting for about 3 months in my grandmas garage while I am in college. So I am not so sure if I am going to do that yet.
