well today i was driving and car started back firing and then just died well got her on a hill and she started went filled her up and better if i punch it acts like it haveing hard time going. well i got gas comeing out the cap again. any ideas like when i got car going again it had a burning smell

 

what yr and model/motor? sounds like a bad cap or tank neck. there are some hoses in that area for vent and the evap, also the evap purg tank is there. better check the location of the leak better.

sorry i added to my post while you were answering. lol. anyways yah check the location of the leak as best you can. look for stains or if you have to make a quik drive around and check. theres a plastic cover over the evap tank behind the driver side rear tire. the fuel tank tube is there as well. check out the hoses and see if the tank is full. it may be over floowing. check out the sticky at the top of the lt1 section. at least i think thats were it is. ill be back. lol
