Anyone help me find this?

i think we tested that after the headers and exhaust were on. i remember it was semi-warm out and i wasnt spacially challenged. i can say though the egr system on my dd blows. i lost 2 mpg and the ability to climb hills without downshifting after repairing it. so i just unplugged mine. i know high temp rtv wasnt the best thing to put in there though. if memory serves me correct, the convoluted tubing had the metal flared and rounded at the end. its probably a one time only crush fitting, and being that i had to bend the tube to make it fit, it could not be sealing correct. i guess ill try taking it off and see if im right and try to flare it out again

Older EGR valves only had a vacuum hose to it, and not an electrical connection. Yours is electric, and the computer knows when it's unplugged which most likely put the engine in limp mode. Your SES light should have gone on too though.

IN order for the CEL to come on you need the computer to run the test on the EGR system. In order to run the full test you need to run in town and on the freeway. So just running around for a few will not trip the CEL in most cases.

I guess we were expecting it to come on right away, which I wasn't sure either if it had to go through so much of a cycle or not. Either way, I didn't like it and it got plugged back in right away.
