Anyone have some input on AC Stop Leak in our Camaro system?
I definetly have leak somewhere because at autozone i put in container of 134a and i saw a puddle afterwards and the ac compressor engaged for awhile andihad ac for a little then it went away again.. should i use stop leak? or should i use a dye and check out what hose or whatever is leakingthen repalce?

My input is, doesn't always work.
When I got my camaro back in june, ac leaked out. Dunno how fast it was but I put stop leak 134a coolant in before anything else. But every 3-4 weeks, I still have to refill it(with normal 134a of course)

I don't know all the brands but most of the stop leaks soften and swell the o-rings. So if you leak is an aged o-ring then it may help. Unlike coolant stop leak I do not think it will hurt anything.
I think they make a Dye and stop leak in one. Front seal in the compressor is a very common issue at this age. Stop leak is not going to help that at all. When looking for the dye check the hood and inner fenders because the compressor clutch slings the dye and very little stays on the compressor.

hahaha, yea i figured that stop leakk **** for thecoolant sysstem is a load of crap and not agood idea. Thanks Gorn for the tip, ill make sure to scope outthe back of the compressor as i put the stop leak in. I remember someone hada question about aleak in their ac system, and after i had told the guy to go to walmart and buy the stopleak + dye some one said that is was bad for the ac system but i figured they were bs'n. Im gonna see if it fixes my problem Masta thank you for the info.

Gorn you mean the front seal where the pulley assembly and compressor meet? If thereis a leak there then ill be swapping the ac compressor hope its something smaller than that for now though.
Ill let you guys know

Z28, u may be correct, this might have been alot of water from the evaporator. But i dont think so. The system was under pressure. For a little then it went warm again.. I will put the can on stop leak+dye in and see what i get later. .
