antifreeze/reserve bottle

95 camaro 3.4 v6/ noticed antifreeze level was real low. only saw very small puddle of fluid under car. not sure where its coming from. my question is why isnt radiator pulling from reserve bottle when it needs antifreeze. no blockage on reserve bottle.

If the cooling system has a leak, there will be no vacuum created to pull coolant from the recovery bottle as the system cools down.

guess i'll have to find the leak. thanks

common failure points, radiator cap, overflow hose or tank pipe leak, water pump failure, lower intake manifold gasket.

ok, the antifreeze is coming out pretty good now. i can't find the leak for the life of me. it's dripping off the frame right under the crank. do you think it could be coming out of bottom of water pump cause i can't see that area. also hearing a slight knock. don't know if it's related or not. can't tell where it's coming from.

the weep hole where coolant comes out when pump fails is at the bottom of the pump under the pulley. another fail point in that area is the front cover on the passenger side. gasket fails. are you getting any coolant in the oil? another fail point in that area is the plastic elbows behind the alternator/ac pump mounting bracket

no antifreeze in oil

ok guys, i replaced the water pump and it still leaking. i don't beleive it's the water pump. i beleive it's the housing it bolts to but can't see in there .it leaks right under crank pulley. how hard of a job is this going to be. any pointers would help. thanks...

Craby, handy dandy video, but that's not looking like a 3.4.
Easter, from your description, it sounds like you may be leaking between the timing cover and block. I would want to confirm that visually first, before ripping everything apart. You want to make sure it's not coming from somewhere else up higher, with the coolant running down the front of the engine where you can't see.

i can't see where it's leaking cause there's too much stuff in the way but i think it's that cover too.
