Default Air Intake Question

What would be better..

Stock intake w/ K&N Filter..

or

K&N Air Intake w/ K&N Filter..

Isnt it all depended on the filter really.. not the intake?

no, the K&N intake is actually closer to the ground,away from the engine bay heat and is more open to let more air in.The factory air intake is actually more power robing.

i agree with ali here...the stock intake is very restricting. the whole k&n intake would be much better

To bad you just can't go to the nearest hardware store and just fab one up huh? Save you a couple hundred for something else. Just a thought.

outta_control_z28;

They bolt straight on. The replica's are specifically made for the marrow's bolt types.

LT1RUNNER;

If ACE let you. I would. LOL! I like K&N though good Intakes and Filters. Had one on my Integra and my Civic they both never let me down.

I know but all you need is a good, unrestricted tube be it metal or plastic. Doess the same thing basicly. Sure plastic doesn't radiate the heat the metal does but unless you're racing and where every little bit counts then metal would do just fine. To each his own I guess. I guess I just don't understand why they charge so much for a plastic tube and filter.

The K&N or Moroso intakes actually flow better than a plain plastic tube. They are molded to fit the weird tight places on their way over the the fender, this allows them to have smooth bends as well as a larger cross-sectional area than just a tube can provide. The larger cross-sectional area promotes better flow.
