Default Air conditioning clutch goes off only over 1700 RPM

Hi Everybody,

My air conditioning works fine until I reach 1700 rpm basically it goes off when I enter the freeway. You feel the pull and the air gets hot and seems to try to engage again but doesn't recover. I mentioned this to friends and no one has any idea's. Any thoughts?

Thank you very much!

What year and model of Camaro are you referring to? Also have you been to a dealership for diagnosis?

I thought that was why we came here first....to avoid having to take it to the stealer and having to pay $100 just for a diagnosis....

that would be correct but sometimes the unspoken word is the loudest.

We all know why we come here however do appreciate that a mfr rep would check in from time to time

make sure its low first over charging can do some serious damage. put a gauge on the low side 35psi with the ac running is right about where you want it, anything under 25 and the sensors will tell the compressor to stop running.
