I had the same thing in my camaro. Its really easy to do. I am not sure why it happens, but I am sure it has something to do with the fancy sound system they put in these things. When you go to run to front speakers just pop off the door panel and stick a hanger through the rubber hose that connect to the body. It will hit a black plastic piece, but just reach for the hanger and pull it around it. Then just tape your new wires to the hanger and pull it through.

so im gonna have to buy all new speakers......i plugged my aftermarket head unit in and it sounds fine my fronts don't work but they never have. i really dont wanna spend the money to get new speakers. and im just supossed to leave the stock amps in there not hooked up....i dont like that idea...ugg. well i guess ill just save my money and run my aftermarket head unit and if the stock speaker blow ill replace them...

I put a new stero in mine and my front and rear speakers work just not the center ones. What im doing to fix it is replacing my rear 4" speaker with some 6X9s using an amp to power them. Then Im using the old wiring from my rear 4" speakers and going to run them to my center speakers.

Hmmm that is just plain weird that you cant replace the stereo and be good to go. it just doesn't add up in my head to me. but if that works for ya i might have to try something along those lines

in many cars with "premium" sound systems there is a factory amp that will not work without the factory head unit. the amp will have to be bypassed. its been a while since I did the speakers in my firebird but I am using the factory amp with a pioneer head unit.... I found out the hard way when 3-way speakers didnt work in the sail panels. now i have SVC subs in there instead. i guess try and see if it works
