Default abs problem

i have a 95 with a 3.4. the abs inop. light has been on since i got the car. it recently went off so i figured i would see if it was working right. when i braked hard i slid, the abs didnt activate and the low trac light came on for about 4 seconds. the weird thing is that the low trac light doesnt come on when i accelerate fast and spin the tires. i dont see why it would come on if the front tires slid and not the back tires breaking loose like it is supposed to. anybody have any ideas?

Your ABS isn't working most likely because of a faulty wheel speed sensor (if the light was constantly on). This is also the input the computer uses to deduce a "low trac" situation. Your car is going to have individual wheel speed sensors for the front wheels and one sensor for both rear tires. I'm not 100% sure exactly how the system decides you're in a "low trac" situation, but I know that I can spin my rear tires quite a bit before it starts complaining. If the front tires are stopped and the rears aren't it doesn't seem to care, but if the rears are going and the fronts are stopped it throws the low trac light.

get it scanned, it will tell you what wheel sensor is out or was out. Also the ABS inop light will come on if you have a brak light out. And I think somehow you can break the low track light. I saw it alot when I first got my car, go figure, since the 2nd or 3rd year of having it I haven't seen it at all.
