Angry Abs inop light

Hi, here is my problem, monday I installed a cai in my 97 camaro.
Well now the abs inop light stays on (it dosen't flash) and no cruise
control either. I have seen a few threads but didn't help cause there is
nothing saying what was done to fix the problem.

I have checked all the wires that are near the cai and everthing seam ok.
I played a bit with the abs6 relay and didn't see any change either.
To night when I went to work, the abs inop light stayed off but the cruise
control didn't work. To my surprise when I arrived at work, when I parked the car the inop light turned on Could it be just the relay that needs
to be changed?

Hope someone can help cause bringing here to the GM dealer up here is going to cost a lot of dough

Thanks

check your third brake light i know if that goes out the cruse doesnt work also the cai goes right over the abs system triple check that just in case you missed something pull off the electrical connectors and make sure theyre clean inside

Sorry I couldn't reply earlier, Thanks BasicConcepts for your input. I rechecked everything. My third light works find. The problem got stranger.
I have notest that when I have to backup out of the driveway the abs inop light goes on and my cruise works . If I'm parked backwards and I can leave without backing up the abs inop light stays off but when I ingage the cruise, the cruise dosen't work. . Got gremlins in the abs system I'm just wondering if its the relay going bad and if so do I need
to replace it with one marked (ABS6/lamps) or well any generic relay work!

Battery is new from last year but I'll give it a look and I'll check the alternator and see if the output is ok cause the gauge in the car is steady at 14.5 or 15 wolts.

I would say it sounds like a wheel sensor going out. You're going to need to pull the ABS code to figure it out for sure.

That would be your best bet as most scanners don't do ABS codes.

Check the sensor in the rear it's on top the pumkin for metal shavings.
