If you hop in a car and drive out to Allentown ( less than 2 hours away) you can find 1998 LS1’s with 100K miles on it for 5K all day long.

I bought a 93 6 speed but I did so based on price. Had the 93 been anywhere near the LS1 cost I would have waited for the LS1, I just don't think I will be finding Ls1 6 speeds for $1500 anytime soon.
Damn thats cheap! Im just saying since hes willing to pay $3700 for a ragged out lt1 i bet he would only need to maybe add $1000-1400 to get a decent ls1.
He's the newest member of the LS end-all fanclub because his old LT1 Z28 broke.
The coolant level sensors for these cars are known for being faulty, there's nothing to worry about. Replace the sensor, unplug the current sensor, or just learn to ignore the dummy light.
Engine operating temperature is at 180*F. When you get moving your temp gauge should read between 180-190*F and climb as high as 230*F when stationary. The fans kick on at 226* for low speed and 235* for high speed on a stock tune. LT1s run hot.
The bracket for the door will need some trial and error type adjustment. You can do it with a few box wrenches and a bottle jack. It requires a good amount of patience.
The price sounds right on the money if the paint is in good condition... but the seller seems a bit sketchy. How long has he owned it and why is he selling?

Another $1,500 will get you an automatic LS1 car with twice the mileage and problems. These cars attract children so it's hard to find one that hasn't been put through its paces. They have a very short lifespan.
