'97 a/c recharge point?
Hi all,
I am a recent owner to a '97 3.8 V6 camaro - could anyone please tell me which is the right 'recharge' connection point if I was topping up my a/c refrigerant? The haynes manual isn't too clear and I can see 2 possible connection points, just wondered if anyone had had theirs done - to ensure I was topping up the right one!
Thanks in advance for any help offered.

On some older cars the fitting were the same, and you could get hurt if you tried to charge the system from the high side. I had a 72 Porsche when I made that mistake, the engine was running for a few minutes and the freon can exploded sounding like a shotgun blast. Never could find the recharge hose. Good thing I walked away to attend to something else when that happened.
Thanks for that z28pete, I'll have another look tomorrow but I'll probably end up being safe rather than sorry (after having a week to think about it) - from what I could see last time I looked - both high and low sides had the same size connection, so I'll probably do the sensible thing and get a pro to do it. Its only around $60 for them to charge it/ check it and give me a run down on how the a/c is performing. I'll maybe be selling my current camaro in the summer so it was just a small thing I aim to sort before selling it. You need a/c in La, regardless of whether it has a soft top or not!!
