Default 95 Tail lights on 02

Okay so I picked up some taillights from the local junkyard. They are the dual colors that I picked off a totalled 95. The plugs for the lights don't fit right into the housing. Should I go back and get the wiring and connectors or any other suggestions?

yes or see if you can get the complete tail light harness. should be a plug to the main harness.

No need to take it that far. Back when I had a 96, I liked the newer 97 and up style lights better. I picked up a pair off ebay, with the matching rear wiring harness. The match between the lock tabs on the old sockets and the notches in the new tail light housings were a little different, and all it took was some trimming with a utility knife to customize the housing notches. I think I may have had to slightly trim a tab or two on the sockets as well. If I had needed to use the new harness I would have, but didn't. "Customizing" the sockets was a heck of a lot easier than what digging after the harness would have been.

Actually I just did that exact same thing. The salvage yard wanted $20 for the harness and I didn't really want to pay that.

Any suggestions on how to wire up the turn signal to stay on all the time but still flash when turning?

nope cant do it, they would both use the same element inside the bulb. well the brakes sorta do it (uses the same element) but the blinker will take over if being used. you could hold the brake on all the time.

You could use a smaller light socket, like what's used on a side marker light, tap that wire into the tail light wiring, and drill a small hole to accommodate the socket. Heck, you're already good at carving notches!

I've seen it done, the light is always on when the vehicles lights are on. Then when you turn on the turn signal it turns the bulb off.
