I am not sure what is going on but your pic is showing an external sensor but both Rock Auto and Oreilly's are show internal crank position sensors for the 3.4.
FYI the 3.4 was put in the base camaro 1993-1995. The 3400 is a different motor designed for front wheel drive cars. The 3800 was available in 1995 in California. from 1996 -2002 the 3800 was the only option for the 4th gen V6 camaro.
Diagram for 3.4 shows external crank sensor (551)

I remember having to re-pull my crank pulley after an overhaul because I forgot to put mine back in.
The above picture is correct, and the ones that Rock Auto has are not for my engine. The exploded view that was provided above is also correct I can not find it in an auto wrecking yard I would appreciate any help with this that I can get.

I am sure you have figured out this parts has been out of stock for years. I found posts back to 2005 searching for this parts. Since they were selling near $100ea some company may run a batch off here and there. The problem is they where only used on the 3.4 which was 3 years Camaro/Firebird. There is not a high volume of these cars left. Someone making this part would have questionable returns. When they run a part like this they have to run 1000's of them to make a profit. You could take years to sell them off. No one want inventory for years.
From my reading:
Do you have a check engine light on? You have two crank sensors in the 3.4. One that runs the spark and one that runs the sequential fuel injection timing. Lucky GM designed the system that is the external sensor fails you just loose the injector timing. Up to that point there was a lot of cars that did not have injector timing. If everything else is working as it should at worse case you should only feel a little shake at idle. I believe GM said at the time it was good for 2% better fuel mileage and a few ponies. This is one of the few systems that can fail and not put the system in limp home mode. If not for the trouble code/check engine light most people would not know the sensor has failed. Most threads looking for this sensor just die off, because the owner realizes that either the sensor is not the real issue giving them problems or there is no problem other then the light. Based on how early these started to fail even if you found one out of a used engine/junk yard it may not work either.
The car is in great shape other than the sensor, I can not find it at any wreaking yards, and most that I call would not sell it to me anyway, only a full engine. And at this point I have not found the engine either. Being in CA an engine swap would not be great except 3.4 for the 3.4
Any leads would be appreciated.
