Had the same problem. The track that the seat rides on is worn out. My fix? I stuck a solid metal rod in there to keep the tracks straight. Greased it up so it would slide with the seat when it was adjusted. Haha! Yea it was rigged but it work and to this day (8 years later) it's still working.

also wondering, how hard would it be to change out the rails, i know of a few salvage yards that i might be able to pull the part from cheap, can i just replace the rail or the whole seat?

No I can't remember the diameter but it was about 5-6 inches long and I just used general purpose grease I had in my garage. I know, I know, cheesy but it worked.

The whole bottom piece comes as one whole assembly so I see no reason why you wouldn't be able to find one. Or even one of similar size.

It's not hard at all to change the rails. There's 4 bolts that hold the rails to the floor. Same thing happened to my drivers side, bought a used set and installed them in 30 min. One of the easiest swapsI ever did. Remember, the seat slides back and forth for access to the bolts. Took me about 10 min to realize that!

The seats don't have to move far to access the bolts so may be able to get to them the way the seat is now.

okay hopefully i can get a set out of a salvage car, but before i go tearing things apart... is there a way to correctly adjust my rails so they are tighter, is there any type of alignment of guide that i can adjust? or do i have to go ahead and replace them?
