Your car came from the factory with cheap tires and the speed limiter was set to 115 to avoid a blowout.

You know how they also have different versions of spedometers? One only goes up to 125 and the other to 155. Is it possible to swap a 125 to 155 one? If yes, anybody knows of a good place to get the 155 one?

The speedo can be calibrated, it will have to be taken in to a shop unless you know what your doing... Z28pete is correct, that is what they governed them to ( tire ratings ) unless it was a convertable, after 92, they governed them at 105MPH cause some geniuses would go faster and try to put the top down. lol

Yes. Tach and oil pressure will be off. Oil pressure needle will still point the same way, it's just the gauge reads different. Tach reads about 3/4 the rpms your engine is really turning. Ebay.

EDIT: If you do this make sure to get the whole cluster not just the face.

To the original poster, we answered this in your thread in the street/strip section. Chevy didn't want to be held liable for idiots driving faster than the tires were rated for. That andthey saved money, using cheaper tires.

Just a quick correction. From 93-97 they were governed at 108, just under the speed limit for S rated tires (112 mph) in 98+ they got governed at 115, which is just under the speed rating for H rated tires (125 mph).
