Default 4th Gen Windshields?

Long story short, I cracked my windshield a month ago. Safelite came out and replaced the glass, and I noticed it had a massive distortion in the lower middle portion of the glass (very noticeable). They've since ordered at least 9 panels of glass, with the last one being from the dealer, and they're all distorted. Now they're saying that they're all like this..

Has anyone had their windshield replaced recently? Do I really have to settle for a magnifying glass as a windshield?

On another forum the guys have bit$&ed about Safelite windshields being crap so the first part of your post came as no surprise. Poor optical quality, poor fit, and easy cracking were the complaints.

But you're saying a GM dealership windshield was distorted as well? Was it a GM-sourced piece of glass? FWIW the windshield in my 94 is original and marked LOF (Libbey-Owens-Ford).

I hear that Pilkington makes decent windshields.

Safelite glass just isn't that great in my experience. My cousin has an auto glass business, and he replaces a lot of Safelite glass. A lot.
