2001 Z-28 vs 1997 Z-28
Alright, Im looking for my first Camaro. Right now I have narrowed it down to two cars that I have found after alot of looking around. The first is a 2001 Z-28. Here is the description.
2001 Chevrolet Camaro Z28. 5.7L V8 engine (310 hp) with automatic
transmission, traction control, and ABS brakes. Well maintained, garaged, very
clean car with all the options. One-owner (woman). Options include
air-conditioning, power steering, power windows/ locks/ mirrors, leather
interior, cruise control, keyless entry, premium Monsoon AM/FM/CD stereo, audio
steering wheel controls, t-tops, ground effects molding, and good tires. Has
107k miles (mostly highway). Extra clean - looks and runs great!
The second one I am considering is a 1997 Z-28. Here is the description.
Woman owned .new tires, battery. only had 2 owners. still have original window sticker,
T-tops, tinted windows. never wrecked or had any bodywork done except the stripes I had painted on. 53,000 Miles.
My question is, which one is a better buy? Both of them are listed at around $7500.Do you think that this is a fair price? I would gowith the 01, as I have heard that the LS1 is superior to the LT1, but the amount ofmiles concern me. This car will be a daily driver in the summer, fall, and spring, and will be garaged in the winter. I am just a young driver, so insurance costs are always something to consider too. What do you guys think is the better car?
Heres pics.

RE: 2001 Z-28 vs 1997 Z-28
Personally I would go for the '97 because it has less miles and I think the early front end looks better. Insurance is going to be expensive either route you take. The $7500 pricetag seems a bit high for the '97 though, even with the low miles. That price seems about right for the 2001 though.

Any other help is appreciated. I almost had it narrowed down to the LT1, because I know that this car will be getting alot of miles in the next couple of years. But if the LS1 is that much superior, and more reliable, and can stand up to the high miles, then maybe it is worth it. I was thinking if I got the LT1, it could be retired as a daily driver and become more of a nice day only car at about 100,000 miles. But with the LS1, it will be around 160,000 miles. What is going to be a betterperforming car at this time, a 100,000 mile LT1 or a 160,000 mile LS1? At what mileage do these cars start to loose alot of performance? And is the LS1 that much more reliable than the LT1?
