Exclamation 1999 Z28 6Spd..what to do now??

Just picked up a 1999 Camaro Z28 LS1 6Spd...
Got it for $4200... 120K on the original engine, bought it from the original owner who had tons and tons of paper work for the work on car. Comes with T-tops as well.

I want to trick this car out badly! From what I know its bone stock.. has SLP intake or it might just be an SLP housing for the air filter.... I want to know what to do first? Headers? flows? I'm not to sure on how to start this project!!!

In addition, the car came with out air bags, red flags came up when he told me this but after car fax and everything-the car is clean. No accidents and not salvaged. .. Is it better to get an aftermarket steering w/o an air bag and just buy a passenger one? or bring it back to its original state... I know i need airbags and modules but I'm clueless to the cost and the labor that will be needed to do this job.... ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED...

I'm glad I went Chevy over Ford... and this WHOLE time I wanted an 04 Bullit .... Never again

congrats and welcome to camaro forums.

Post some pictures of the car for us to see!!

As for what to do next, its always good to start with a good base. I know it sounds like a horrible idea because you want to buy go-fast parts, BUT a fresh set of plugs (t55 ngks), oil change, fuel filter will be a good start, make sure everything is running the way it should be. From there, it depends on where you want to go with it. A nice exhaust is always a good start, a good set of shocks/springs would help as well. What do you plan to do with the car?

Just because it wasn't reported doesn't mean it wasn't wrecked. Is take it to a shop and see why it dint have air bags.

It has probably be wrecked.
I have wrecked lots of cars and never taken them to a sop for repairs.

rfx camaro is correct just because a car has a clean title doesn't mean it wasn't wrecked i know i guy with a car thats frame had been badly bent in an accident but the car was clean title because he didn't report to his insurance or take it to a shop for repairs. I would bet that the car has been in an accident because the only reason a car wouldn't have an airbag was because it was in a crash

That's dirt cheap for an LS, sounds fishy... But if all checks out you're good to go.

Check out the stickies for where to start on modding. I agree with Cheeks do all the maintenance things first. Definitely change those shocks if it still has the original.

i appreciate all the info! Thanks...

I took the car into a Mechanics school were one of my best friends is going to school at. They ran my car through professional scanners and i believe they used a scanner specially for GM cars. The only codes that came about were electrical ones. Teacher said that it can be because of a bad ground connect. No other codes came one for anything else... In addition, they manually controlled everything on the car through the PCM by the scanner. Everything turned on and worked perfectly. They check the car for damages through the engine bay and noticed that nothing was wrong and that a welding job done to the radiator support was fine and professionally done. They checked under the car and couldn't see or find anything wrong with....

So i am guessing that this car is good so far...

My only concern is that the camaro is currently being ran without a coolant reservoir tank which is causing the low coolant sensor to flash...

There are no air bags in the car so the air bag light is on...

The car runs perfectly fine through all gears and gets in high speeds easily as well as coming to a halt...

I believe that car is in good condition. I already put over 1000 miles on the car and it has given me zero problems..

ANY ADDITIONAL HELP WILL GREATLY BE APPRECIATED...

thank you to all who gave me input on what I should do!! THANKS
