Default 1998 Differential swap

Hey, Im new here and looking for some advice. I have a 1998 camaro with a stock differential. It does not have a posi, just simple OE. I have recently recieved a limited slip differential out of a 1998 olds bravada and was wondering if i could put this differential into the camaro. They are both ten bolt and 7.5 inch rear ends. Also, the stock camaro diff has some weird teeth on the side next to the ring gear, they go all the way around the diff. What are these? because on the outside of the diff there are also wires going into it, does this have anything to do with the low traction light?

Ok, so I learned that this is the tone ring for the ABS system. Is there any way that i can swap the tone ring from the stock rear end onto the new posi rear end?

Yes but your going to have to swap your carreir with the posi carrier as you have 2 different rear end styles. To get the speed ring of you unbolt the gears then with a rubber mallet gently tap the speed ring off. Once it's off you can then unbolt the gearing of the other carreir and put the spee ring on then tighten up the Camaro gears to press the ring on. Once done put the new carreir into your Camaro diff and reinsert the axels all the way and lock them in.
