Exclamation 1997 Camaro TURNING OVER NEED HELP !

i have a 97 camaro lt1 i got a spark plug replaced cause it shot out of the chamber i got the threading redone on it. ever since then it would take a little longer to start up it turns over fine in the morning.. when its cold. It seams like if i drive it and try to start it wise the engine in wormed up it will have a problem turning over. some times it takes me 2 trys and some times when it turns over its not a strong start. the mechanic told me it has nothing to do with the spark plug but i don't know i need help he said its most likely my starter. i also have a weak battery i don't no if that takes part on a funky start up.

need help please

-it seams like when i starts it when the engine in cold it started great but when its wormed up it takes a little longer to turn over.

- sometimes when it turns over its not a strong turn over like it use to be

I would say your mechanic is right on this one if you have a weak battery. Clean your battery cables (both ends), replace your battery and see if it starts any easier. If not, then you can take your starter off and have it checked at a auto parts store.

A seasoned farmer told me that a hot battery is the key to keeping your starter from going bad.

I am not that all that familiar with the LT1 electrical system and the way the timing is set on them but in earlier years, the timing of the engine could be advanced and cause the engine to feel like it had a dead battery while trying to start but then when it fired over, it was good to go.

if its starting cold and not so good when at operating temp then i would say its most likely the starter. could be it just needs to be insulated from the heat of the block or could be a bad starter or both. do like duck says and check the battery charge and connections.
