Default 1997 Camaro ?

Hey everyone, i dont have a camaro, yet. But thats why I am here, i need to ask a question. Me and my dad found a 1997 camaro for sale and didnt know if it was worth it. It has 128,000 miles. It is a SS with a 5 speed. It had leather, and it had 30th anniversary seats in it. Idk if it actaully was a 30th because idk wat makes them one. It had a aftermarket fiberglass hood that would deffinently go. It had ben repainted in the rear ( the guy didnt know why, but he wasnt the owner of the place.) They want 8,800 for it but idk it it was worth it or even worth negotiating about. I was just wanting to know eveyones opinoin on it and what you would do. It is just the nicest one around for the being a V8 and 5 speed, a hard to find combo around here, idk why.

thanks everyone

No 8000 is a little steep I think. It has a aftermarket hood you don't want and it shouldn't add value which they probably did. The fact that it is painted in the back end might mean it has been wrecked or has had paint damage (rust) possibly. Are you sure it is a 5 speed and not a 6 speed. If its a 5 speed then it isn't a V8 or an SS. If it all checks out I would pay no more than 6000. At 100K + miles it might have engine problems or tranny problems you don't know about.

well to be a 30th anniversary it would have to be a 1997 -_-. which it is. and if its an SS then the "aftermarket" hood should be the stock one, in which case it shouldnt go. And its not an SS or even a V8 if its a 5spd, it should be a 6speed. 8 grand is what i paid for my 97 Z28 with under 100, so dont pay that much, unless it has an LT4, you didnt mention if its an LT1 or an LT4, ask about that.

Don't ask what motor it has, they'll probably try to play it up. Unless the car is white with two Hugger Orange racing stripes, has white wheels, and a white bridge(B-pillar area, but goes all the way across the car) then there's no way it can have an LT4 from the factory. The price seems steep, get some more info on the car and get back to us, if you can get the VIN and then we can find out exactly what it is.

maybe it does have an aftermarket hood and not the original ss hood, he never clarified that. i'd say price is a bit high, my car has 60,000 miles on it and i'd maybe ask 9 grand for it. and no its not for sale, haha

Well I just had my car for sell and it is a 97 true SS. After talkin it over with my father, he wont let me sell it. I was going to start mine out at 8250 and it has 97000miles. The one you are lookin at seems like it has had alot of problems and isnt worth what he wants for it. But to all his own!
