Default 1996 to 1995 rear end swap

as some as you might know i want to swap my v6 rear to a v8 lt1 rear end. the rear end is from a 1995 lt1 with 3.23 gears, my car is 1996 3.8 with 3.23, is this a direct swap? no abs issues or anything like that, by the way im paying $165 from a dismantler not sure if it has rotors or pads but should come with calipers at least and they pull it for you

Only thing that matters is if the other had traction control. Traction control equipped cars had an ABS sensor in all four wheels. Non-traction control equipped had ABS sensors inthe front two wheels and only one in the rear (3 total on the car).

I'm bringing my old tread back to life. I'm going to go look at a rear 2maro and it is a 1994 z28. So how do i convert a 1 wheel speed sensor to 2 wheels speed sensors.

Easily... you dont.

The ABS and TC systems both use the 4 sensors your computer will not know how to handle the extra data if you were to tie the sensors together. You should have 3 channel ABS which uses one sensor on the diff. 4 channel ABS was used as far as I know only on cars equipped with TC. I would keep looking for a new diff, one that comes off a non TC car.

i dont know that you can. i think the axles are different lengths. if your switching from 4 to 3 look for a plug in the center section. if no plug i think you could drill hole in the center section for the sensor and add a reluctor to the ring.

Wouldn't he be wanting to find a rearend from a car with TC? The single center section sensor is ABS only. Sensors at both wheels is ABS and TC.
