I just got a new key fob for my camaro. I programmed it and it's working fine.
My question is it supposed to honk the horn or flash the lights when you lock or unlock the car.

 

I can't answer if it's supposed to, but mine doesn't.

I saw nothing in the manual to indicate that it is supposed to either.

 

I believe if you press the lock twice it does that. That arms the alarm.

 

My 95 didn't flash the lights or honk the horn with the fob.

 

Thank you guys for the reply's. I looked in the owners manual and didn't see anything about it. I figured I would ask to make sure there was nothing wrong with the keyless module

 

I can not speak for the '95, but on the '96 you can program the car to blink the parking lights/beep horn twice on locking, and blink the lights on unlocking.... or not do anything.

Also, you can set the delay for the interior lights, as well as the chimes for leaving the lights on, leaving the keys in the ignition, etc.

Directions on how to do this are contained in the factory shop manual.

 

No, that option was available until 96.

 

I got a 97 and mine honks the horn when I lock the doors . The lights also flash when locking and unlocking.

 

My 2002 honks and flashes the lights when I lock (hit the lock button 1x), and the lights flash when I unlock.

 

I bought a fob on ebay for $10 and programmed it to my 98Z.
Lock: Horn honks twice, all lights flash.
Unlock: Lights flash and the interior light comes on.

Lock with a door or hatch open: Will do the same as locking after the door or hatch is closed.
