1994 z28 sputtering problem..help!!
Alright I have a 1994 z28 Camaro. It has bored and polished heads, intake, twin throttle body (biggest size), 1.6 rockers, pacesetter headers, and a borla exhaust system. I noticed that it started sputtering at the end of last summer, about 40-50mph I would give it a little bit of gas and it would sputter and not go, then I would put it to the floor and it would go just fine? I just ignored it because I had to park it for the winter time. I just got it out 3 weeks ago and thought I better have it looked at. I got a new distributor, spark plugs, wires, water pump, hoses and a new battery. The first couple times I took it out it ran great. I drove it around my town for a good couple hours last Saturday night and had no problems. But tonight on my way home from work, I pinned it and when I slowed down and just started going again I noticed it started doing the exact same sputtering problem. I parked it and took it out a half hour later and it still sputtered. Now once I get to speed it runs fine, but when I try to accelerate, it sputters and bogs out. I really have no idea what it could be now, I figured it was the distributor but yeah, its still sputtering. A buddy of mine thinks it might need a tune or possibly fuel pump? Any help or input would be greatly appreciated, thanks for looking!!!!

if its not tuned that would be a good start. solomon is one of the best and i think he does 94 z28s. stock cam? how do the plugs look? does it do it all the time? not when cold, only when cold.

if you can have the car scanned for trouble codes. i know a 94 can be a pain to get scanned. could be a number of things, 02 sensors, fuel pump, coil, ignition control module, and a number of other sensors that come into use when the system goes into closed loop.

Well I finally figured out what it was, my air filter was dirty as hell and the mass air flow censor got covered with gunk, which was causing the sputtering, have taking it out a couple of times and haven't had a problem yet! cheap and easy fix thankfully!!
