Why put something in your car that slows it down?

Without the air dam, how fast will the car be going once the engine overheats and quits?

I've ran without an air dam for years and I've never had any issues of over heating. You guys are full of it.

In fact, Chevy only put the air dam on to cut down on performance. Also, if you have a air scoop, you want to remove it for better performance.

lol, I know what you're saying. And why do all car manufacturers install glass on their cars too, just to add needless weight! I can see just fine without a hunk of glass in my way.

in fact the less air allowed under the body of the car the better it will handle at high speeds. so what do you base your findings on? over and over i have seen members on here with a run hot condition that was solved by putting the airdam back on.

....or caused by them removing the air dam. If you don't run hot without it, you're one of the lucky ones.
Look at the front of the car, it has NO venting directly in front of the radiator.
The air dam grabs the air, and directs it up and through the radiator.
