Default 1993 V6 3.4L Timing Gear Info

On a 3.4L timing chain when it is on top dead center for #1 cylinder should the timing dots be at ( camshaft at 6 o'clock and crankshaft at 12 o'clock or should they be camshaft at 12 o'clock and crankshaft at 12 o'clock?

suposed to line up the marks on the crank and cam sprockets with the cast timing marks on the block and/or the timing marks on the timing chain damper, cam at 6 crank at 12.
