Default 17x11 ZR1 wheels

i am in the market for some new wheels. does anyone have the 17x11 ZR1's on the rear of their car with 315/35/17's now? i have heard they stick out of the wheel opening 1/4" , is this true? because if they do i will find a different wheel because to me , having the wheel stick out looks redneck as hell. if they fit pretty much even with the quarter i can deal with but i don't want them sticking out. and do you have any rubbing issues. i really want the ZR1's and to drop the car 1.2" , so if they rub on a stock height car i know they will rub badly on on that's been dropped.

I know that you can run 315's on the back with little to no rubbing and you can solve the small rubbing issues with a hammer. As far as how far the stick out i'm not sure, a lot of that can also depend on offset etc.

thats kind of hard to say i think because the figure of the car is almost like an hour glass ( if ur looking at the body lines from the back of the car) if you know what i mean how up near the windows and such it's wide then kind of curves in at it gets near the bottom of the car as long as they don't stick out at the top of the wheel wells/quarters then you shouldn't have to worry about it looking redneck because what i think is white trash is when people lower their explorers or expeditions and throw some fricken 18"'s on it because they can't afford 20"'s and have absolutely no back spacing on the wheels so they stick out like 4" or more on both sides...and if anyone ever is hating on your car well then they better either a. drive an f-body also or b. drive a vette

i was hoping to hear from someone that has them on their car.as far as the sticking out, my rear tires stick out at the bottom of the car now, just because of the way the sides of the car are shaped, but i don't want them to stock out at the top where the fenders flaired. like if you look straight down from the top of the car i don't want the tire sticking out.i want the tire tucked under the car.

i have found the answer to this question.... if you run the 17x11 Vette Grand Sport offset the wheel lines up the the quarter and looks like the 17x 9.5 ZR1s that come on the stock SS cars , if you run a 17x11 ZR1 wheel it will stick out 1/4". the GS wheel has 50 mm offset ,the ZR1 has 38 mm offset....
