Default What do you think RIMS/TIRES

i tried posting this on the third gen forum but had no luck maybe I will here. The other day i saw these tires on a 90's vette and it looked so wicked. I visualized them on my car and I am going to get those Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's and toss these Goodyear Eagle GA's that I currently have on Z28 rims 7 inch. I am going to need new tires pretty soon due to the dry rot happening on the rear set blah blah blah. The current tires i have on there now are P235/55R16 and was wondering which of the three numbers in that code could be safely altered for a different size tirewith the same rim or do I need a new rim? IF i do i didn't know what would look best, or if black would look good with red car or that kind of stuff. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated pics too. --thanks

if u want bigger tires in size like set up to a 17inch tire ur gonna have to go to a 17inch rim bc it gonna strech the tire out to fit on the 16inch rim or vice verse and wont look right.

Your idea of using 16" tires on 17" wheels will NOT work. [sm=chairshot.gif]

he is talking about the first number which is the tire width. not the rim size like you guys were thinking. You can go slightly over the 235 to a 245 or so and it is not bad. If in doubt, go to good year with you car and see what they say. Good luck
