Trouble with tpi swap
I own a 1992 camaro RS which was a 5.0 throttle body injected. i recentlytransferred intakes over to the tuned port injection. At first it was drivable if i was easy on the pedal, too much throttle would stall it out. when trying to raise the RPM's while using a timing light, i noticed the timing was not advancing when the RPM's rise. ive had a few of my fathers friends, great mechanics, look at the car all last summer and no one knows what is going on. I replaced the TPS sensor, 8 new 19 pound injectors, new wiring harness, computer and prom chip. any leads would help me out. thank you.

RE: Trouble with tpi swap
Did you replace the fuel pump? TPI needs much more fuel pressure than TBI. The spark advance on some distributors is controlled by the ECM, and if the distributor and ECM are not properly wired, there will be no spark advance control.

Did you remove the internal pump in the tank? Thatpump is a low pressure pump suitable for TBI, and it will restrict the flow of fuel to the MSD external pump. Check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail, you need to have the higher pressure called for the TBI system.

yeah i removed the internal pump, the fuel rail is reading about 42 pounds. im starting to think i may have a bad ground somewhere on the block, or a faulty computer. because a buddy of mine came over with a scan tool and plugged it into my computer and wasnt getting any readings, hes a mechanic n uses the tool alot so im pretty sure it was set up correctly. I ordered the harness, computer, and prom chip from TPI parts in miami, computer was used and refurbished so maybe not well enough you know?
